All we need is a bit of luck now!

Miraculously having survived the 13 hour ordeal to Delhi and then the 1 hour streamlined, jet fast trip through Indian customs, we settle into our modest digs at the aptly named Aerocity Delhi.

We go out to a local diner and surprisingly I order enough food to feed a typical Indian village(if the village consisted of gluttons)

The following day we are flying to Lucknow. We have a modest breakfast.

Security at Delhi airport is strict;all false teeth, glass eyes and colostomy bags need to be put in a separate tray to be scanned. Arriving in Lucknow we are greeted by our faithful guide with the unpronounceable name, who I will refer to as Abdul for the sake of clarity.

We are taken on a tour of the local market which specialises in "chickan curri" which disappointingly turns out to be embroidered bridal outfits!

We are taken to a local eating establishment where we partake in the speciality of the house, the "basket chaat", which seems to be a whole lot of stuff, stuffed into an edible basket-seemed it couldn't make up its mind whether it was a sweet or savoury concoction; won't need to try this again(more of a basket case, if you ask me!

Then back to our hotel for a fitful sleep.

  1. Here's a revised version with a dash of humor:

"In the chaos, did you manage to put everything back in its rightful place? I'm talking glass eye in the socket, colostomy bag in the correct location, and false teeth firmly in the mouth? Just want you to avoid any awkward smiles or, worse, accidents!"
